Adriana (they/them) lives, works and plays on the Sunshine Coast on the traditional territories of the skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and shíshálh (Sechelt) Nations. Adriana is a white settler, child of immigrants with roots reaching back to Eastern Europe from Polish, Kashubian and Ukrainian descent.
Adriana identifies as a non-binary queer, an artist, a musician, and proud parent of two cats, a dog and many house plants.
In 2008 they earned a Diploma in Motion Picture Production from Capilano college. Shortly after they returned to school and completed a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a Psychology minor from Simon Fraser University in 2015. In 2018 they graduated from the Langara College Expressive Arts Therapy program.
They were in the social service field doing front line support work from 2012 to 2020 at Wish Drop-In Centre, Coast Mental Health drop-in and Vancouver Coastal Health's Sumac Place. In 2018, they moved to the Sunshine Coast and began working as a counselor for Sunshine Coast Community Services, which they continue to this day. Adriana is a certified expressive arts therapist with the Ontario Expressive Arts Therapy Association (OEATA.)
In 2019, Adriana was trained as a Death Doula through Douglas College. In 2021, they completed a course on End of Life Rituals through Be Ceremonial, which helps clients create custom rituals and ceremony for end of life. Adriana has also completed Basics of Rituals and Animus Psychology through Ancestral Medicine and Mindfulness - Power of Awareness with Sounds True.
